MORE gain PLEASE!

I went through ALL my volatages in the amp, and EVERYTHING is running cool. If want to drive the power tubes and PI a little harder, What should I do?

I am looking to ad some evilness to my 36W on the TMB channel. Can someone help me.

I looked through the download section, but it's a little unclear to me...
"ur12" mentionned that I could " change the plate resistor to a higher value like 150k or 220k" on V2.



Any tips?

Hi chubsman, which 36 watt design did you use? I built mine based on Richies design and Pete's layout. The output creeps up on JCM800 territory.

If it's Mesa/Boogie style sustain and drive use a pedal. If you want Plexi on steroids the 36/Richie should do it.

I don't know if Nik's version has Richie's tonestack lift but if not, implemeting that would give a substantial gain increase.

Does this render the TMB controls unsuable when activated?

It effectively removes the controls from the circuit, so that yes, the controls no longer work.

As mark posted..yes it removes them.. But the normal channel tone control still works.. the lift was more to use for that channel,if you wanted to get closer to an 18 without the added TMB controls..

When I played Allyn's amp a couple weeks ago, I found myself using the tonestack lifted for almost the entire time. I just set the normal channel's tone to a basic amount, then used my guitar vol/tone controls to fine tune. I usually play with the vol rolled off a bit for rhythm, then up for solos. Try patching the inputs also for even more "oomph!"

To Jumper the 2 channels I put a jack from??

High of the Normal to the Low of TMB channel?

Plug into the the hi input of the normal side then plug in a small patch cable from the low input normal side to the high input of the tmb side.
