The very first time I powered up a "real" mullard I was really startled by the "flash" thought the tube fried! LOL
What is funny, is the GT "mullard" copies flash as well. But that is all I think that is Mullard about them.

Well done! This further proves it is possible to get a good used Mullard that performs solid, for the cost of one GT "re-issue" Mullard that sounds like any new-production-nothing-special tube.

I have purchased may excellent NOS and close to NOS tubes for really cheap prices, because I just kept patient, and every once and a while, someone who was into old radios and electronics, who really don't know the market value for these tubes, throws them up on ebay. And you can get a good deal.

The reason it seems cheap, is because obviously it is not new, so I don't really think it should command the ridiculous cork sniffer prices. And I am not trying to profit from it. Plus I have about 20 more, so I really won't miss the few I sold too much. Just trying to thin out some stock.
here are larger resolution pictures, you can barely see date codes on the other side of the tube through the glass, but unfortunately hard to tell from the picture. I think you will be pretty happy with this tube.
I sold of a bunch of my Mullards and Amperex tubes.
Welp, I was caught! It is a small world. I was just glad I found something that was inexpensive enough for me to "try out" before I dump alot of money into these things. I should probably find a few more and get a couple of power tubes to try. It's just hard finding stuff like this cheap enough to just "try out" first.

Well, I said it was a mistake to open my mouth ...
I just went through some valves I found a while back - I have an mC coded longplate ECC83 made in Blackburn! Only seen mC from Siemens before. The full code is mC1 B6A, Labelled Mullard ECC83 British made. Getter is square and supported both sides, copper grid posts.
I am now following a rocking horse with a bucket and shovel ...

Yeah, if your patient good deals come up. I no longer pay big bucks for old glass anymore. This past week I bought a Heath labeled Mullard for 10.00 bones, a phillips miniwat made in australia for 10.00 and a tungsram with the mullard shield logo for 10.00. and a couple of tung sols for the same.

Tung-Sol's are great in Fenders! Good score, they're a little tricky to come by, but sound so very nice in Fender amps.
