Hey Guru's, What's the rule of wiring speakers? Series divides the ohms.
2 16 ohm spkrs in series gives an 8 ohm load?
Thanks

No, series adds the ohms. Two 16-ohm speakers in series would be 32 ohms. Paralleling them would give you eight.
But the rule on parallel is not just halving them. For example putting an 8 and 4 in parallel would NOT give you 6. The formula is 1/Z(1)+1/Z(2)..=1/Z(n). So the 8 and 4 in parallel would yield 2.67 ohms. Like resistors in parallel, your result cannot be more than the lower value.
