Howdy all,
You'd think I could keep my yakkin around the grill about something other than fixing amps, but I wouldn't want to throw this one out on the 18w since it's a nasty old solid state amp.. I put this post on the Amppage, but didn't get any responses ( yet ).
I've got a friend's Bassman 60 on the bench ( made in 1993, solid state, one 15 inch speaker ) that intermittantly sputters or squeals when it's turned on. When it's doing this and I turn the power switch off the power indicator lite glows for 30 seconds or so, slowly dimming out. When the amp doesn't squeal upon power up, the amp works OK, and when turning it off the indicator lite stays on ( normally bright ) for 2 seconds then turns off abruptly.
I'm not up on solid state amps, hope one of ya'll is..
I don't have a schematic for it, did a quick Google search last night but didn't see one
Many Thanx,
Bill
