A few days ago I read about a famous Texan, claiming he heard the sonic difference in his amp if the resistors were turned 180 degrees.....

Pricing:
$40 per cap for "Antique Pine" just like Leo used!
$40 per cap with "Baltic Birch", for the Marshall fans!
$20 per cap for budget amps: We use imported "Chinese" bamboo.
...I'll also cryogenically freeze the caps for $5 extra......

Some of it may be, but those guys on that page do have some really good info if you look it over.,and sort through it. Although some seemed strange, i've never tried it. But on there tips and tricks page,it has some good stuff there. But guitar amps aren't hi-fi,but some things with tube amps apply to both..

Whats so funny about that ?! Haven't you ever heard of the incredible sounding "polarized resistors"?
Just look for the ones with the little "+" on one side. They can turn a SS guitar amp into a tube killer !
