The N.E.R.D.S were the musical guests last night on Saturday Night Live. It's the episode with Ben Affleck as host, if they do a re-run.
The guitar player was using a Red no-name combo 2-12 or 2-10.
Does anyone here know these guys and their equiptment?
I'm just curious.

The Nerds are a local band here in NJ, if it's the same band. They're pretty big around here. I haven't seen them in quite a while so I don't know what he's using nowadays but he used to use a Marshall channel switching combo, I think a 2x10" JCM 800 or similar. He's been using that for years. They've been around a LONG time. I used to see them in small clubs in the 80's. Not last 4th of July but the two years prior to that they played the July 4th celebration here in Milltown,NJ (small town where I live). They are a great band. They do A killer version of Bohemian Rhapsody. The whole thing vocal section and all.

I will try to catch them soon, if they are playing and I'll let you know what he's using.

Yeh, ditto that. He uses those newer marshall combo amps. I know the tech he uses. He's been using the same old chavel/kramer type guitar since the 80's (its been re-fretted like 5 times). Whatever you saw them using on TV were probably rentals from S.I.R., provided by NBC.
