Pan pedal between 36W inputs?

Hey,

I'm eagerly awaiting my 36W head to arrive, and I was already thinking how to switch between the inputs the easiest and to get the most sound variety out of it.

Do you see any problem with using my Ernie Ball pan pedal to switch between the inputs? I figure I could easily use the 1st output for the cleanest input and the second for the most driven one, and basically have a foot-adjustable gain pedal that way for infinite number of drive levels in between.

I don't see why not, but anybody think otherwise?
Or perhaps it'll work just the same as just a volume pedal, using just one input anyway, and just adjusting the input gain with it. Well, then you lose the other channel controls...
