No gutshots - not even a rear panel shot that might let you spot the rectifier valve or assess the speakers. As has been said before - his photography ain't that bad, and if he's selling gear at these prices, he can afford a decent camera. On this showing, I wouldn't even drive to Leeds to look at it (assuming I had that kind of ready cash, you understand )

It just so happens that this is the most expensive guitar on the list (at a whopping 33 thousand Euros ). Whoever, er, assembled the Ebay listing doesn't even know the model number (ES5 CT) and possibly doesn't even realise its true value - it just happens to be a nice pic I've emailed the seller to request the serial number and more pics - was I wrong to use English rather than French?
Or am I being over cynical?

Funny thing about that 2x10 is……the grill-cloth is placed vertically (stripes top to bottom) . What does that tell us ??

To be fair, over the years we've seen examples of both orientations of the basketweave fabric in legit 18 watters. What it tells us is simply that Marshall were happy to use the fabric in whichever way that ensured leaving the smallest offcuts possible. If that entailed having the cloth 'on its side', then so be it. We also know they were prepared to play fast and loose with things like capacitor values and OT types according to available stocks and supplies , so 'turning the cloth around' would seem to be a relatively minor move.
Still not convinced by this one, though. Justin is so reluctant to give up the crucial evidence Might well be fine - we just can't tell from this. I've spoken to him on more than one occasion and, believe me he's no fool. And that's what worries me most about this...

How are things up there in sunny Scotland? Yep quite right, Marshall sometimes stuck those stripes on vertically lol. I sometimes see it on tall cabs, where the stripes follow the upright shape of the cab, however, it’s very rare on combos (only other one I’ve actually seen was in Jims “amp museumâ€

Considering the source of the amp (MG) and the fact that they can manufacture amps from scratch, there's a very good chance that there is NOTHING original on the amp in question!!!
It looks Very new in the pics provided...
