I found an advertisement, where a old 2x12 Laney cab is being offered.
The advertiser said that one of the speakers is an original Goodmans. The otherone is a such an eastern europian made (it's not interest me :)).
I ask some pics, and it looks like that one of the speakers is a Celestion silver alnico.
The cab is cheap (about $100).
What is your opinion?

Yes, that's what it looks like. If it sounds good and has the original cone then it would be worth around $500. The bell cover on the magnet doesn't seem to match the speaker. Even if the speaker still turns out to be a Goodmans, it will be a really nice speaker.

Thank you Phil!
The strange thing is the bell cover... or bell cover is ok, and the housing got a strange hammerite like paint... :roll:
I think this is a Celestion, because the T1088 code, and the DG18 date code... DG18 = 1971 july 18 :?:

:oops: looks like the G means the year = 1974
DG18 = 18th april 1974

Definitely a Celestion with the T1088 code.
T1087 to T1096 were fitted with different colour bell housings, T1088 was sprayed Poly Grey. T1096 was the same but 15ohms and made for Jennings (Vox) so it is a Vox Blue ? but with a grey cover ?
T530 was actually a sprayed blue cover, but the same speaker.

Well spotted with those codes. I have to confess I just took a quick look at the photos and recognised the typical Celestion frame. Early Vox speakers were actually silver, rather than the blue. So this may be one of those. It still looks like the frame and bell don't actually belong together.

Bottom line is that sub has probably got himself the deal of a lifetime - the ultimate loudspeaker made by Celestion. An 18W sounds totally killer through these. :D
