hey guys...
Some of you might have read that I wanted to build a reverb unit , built in an extension cab for my 18 watt combo amps.
Well I decided to build the "lamington" reverb.. a constant current driven reverb, designed by Grant Wills from "down under". More info to be found on the valveheaven website.
According to his schematic I drew a layout and ordered the parts. I opted for a 6AU6 pentode instead of the prescripted 6BX6 from the schematic, for I can't get access to the 6BX6 without paying shipping for that tube itself. The 6AU6 was ordered at "tonefactory", where the other parts were bought too.
After receiving the parts yesterday I started building today... here is some footage of the progress so far...

Heaters wired.. tranny works great

Haven't started yet, I've been busy. BUT I have everything for a head version and a combo version ready except the cabs. The combo cab should be here in a couple days though, so that will likely motivate me to actually build it.

What is your signal path? Are you running the reverb in the loop?

Yes it's through the loop. There is some amount of hum I just can't get rid off and through the loop it's barely audible. It sure beats the hissy digital pedal I've been using, both in noise and performance.

Thanks. And Josh, this time I was bound to use a schematic, because that's all there was available. Plus I had to be creative cuz I used another type of pentode than the schematic prescripted. It all turns out pretty well.. maybe even so well that I might build one along the board of the modern classic, eliminating the normal channel and use its space and pots for the reverb... but still deciding that.
The other ( more likely ) path is a plan to build a 36 Watt TMB tremolo and import the circuit there. That's more challenging IMHO.

Danx!!! I can see the benefit of a current driven reverb now. It's more clear sounding. I wonder if a tone pot would be a nice feature though...
