Could anyone confirm if I'm on the right track?
Hello everyone, I'm new around here and have recently developed an interest in the Marshall 18 watt, despite being 63—better late than never, right? I've been captivated by the touch sensitivity of a 5E3 clone I acquired, which responds beautifully to pick attack dynamics when set just right. In my quest for a similar experience, the Marshall 18 watt keeps popping up as a recommendation. Could anyone confirm if I'm on the right track? Is the Marshall 18 watt known for the kind of touch-sensitive control I'm after? Appreciate any guidance you can offer!

An 18 watt is indeed a good choice when you need a non complicated amp with a very complex 3D sound. It is not really comparable to a 5E3 due to its tighter sound and extremely useable gain structure. It’s not flubby in the low end, where the 5E3 farts out on higher volume. An 18 watt is fat sounding though. But nice fat.
Volume wise they’re pretty comparable.
