TMB with ECL86s?

I have a nice Ceriatone TMB board (thanks Attilio!), a pair of ECL86 tubes and a set of salvaged trannies + chassis from an old Italian guitar amp (PT 245 - 0 - 245V, SS rectifier, 4 ECCs, 2 x EL84).
Could I just throw it all together (obviously replacing the cathode bias resistor) and end up with a nice 14 watt TMB? Any tips / experiences / pitfalls?

Sure that will work. I would try to keep the B+ voltage below 350V, so you don't have to bias the valves to cold to keep them within their dissipation limits. Use a couple of zeners if necessry. You should aim for 70% of 9W, which is 6.3W dissipation per valve at idle. I would guess that you will probably need a 220 or 270 ohm cathode resistor to get there. I would also recommend that you set up the power supply and screen resistor arrangement as shown in the 18W Lite IIa and Lite IIb. That will also help to protect your ECL86s.
