What are you guys using for drawing Schem's?
EXAMPLE: all of the downloadable schematics on this site.

I tried DesignWorks Lite for MAC. I hate it. I like a legal pad and a pen better.
I know something is out there, if I have to get a PC just for doing Schem's and layouts I will.

I don't need access to SPICE or anything else. I just want a fast way (relatively) to make schematics.

I would like to make my trials and tribulations (SE el84 amps) available to all!

Thanks,
Lloyd

Hi Lloyd...

To what I know, for the schematics drawn here (take for examplke the PedalMonkey schematic), Illustrator it's used.
Also you can go with Paint Shop Pro that MArk Huss is using.

I drew the "Gabi's Layout" in Illustrator.

I guess you can use any vector based drawing software but you will have to make your own simbols library. That also should not take a too much.

If you really want to get fancy, go with Visio from Microsoft.

I use AutoCAD but I have that at work (expensive) Have you tried something like Turbocad or some of the cad shareware out there? Its not hard - if I can master it - anyone can.

I used designworks lite for drawing my AB763 schematic. And to be honest. I didn't mind it. I guess it's just a matter of getting used to.NIco :?

This might be more for taking a shortcut, when designing. but you can also see how it things will work etc. And figure all those before soldering..
Just look it over and it might interest you. Seems very good for the price..
Tube Cad.
I believe it also lets you draw up your plan, and see how it works. It will show if you have problems or what might need changed.

Personally, I'd recommend Visio. It's what I use for all my schems (usually for pedals, but that's another story). It's pretty east to use; drag and drop interface for components (There are a surprising amout that are predrawn!)

I prefer the "hard way" with photoshop .... 8O
look at the component side of mxr chorus or board side
of "mistress" at

Now *those* are works of art :)

But you know what's going to happen now, plexi1959? Someone (not me, of course!) will insist that you do one for the 18Wer's tag board so we can have it as Desktop wallpaper

You guys are all posting solutions for a PC user; he's got a MAC. So do I and I'd like to find some decent software for this, too. Design Works sucks, he's right.
