It all depends on how the tubes sound when you get them. Speaking strictly on price, no, you did just fine. The Mullard is not sold as new but as slightly used. Who's really to say. It could sound great for years or be working but aweful sounding.

When you buy NOS tubes the integrity of the seller and their willingness to stand behind their product is the most important thing. Will your buyers refund your money or send you an exchange if there is a problem? That's the main question.

I recently purchased a sleeve of those 12AT7s from the same seller. I did a quick audible test on them (since my tester is currently out being calibrated) and 1 of the 5 was definately bad. It looks like you paid about the same that I did. The real test will be when my tester comes back and I can get a closer internal look into them.
