Tube for OD pedal

Hello all,

Got myself a cracker of an OD pedal, its a DHA Valvetone mk2, it has gain and level, sounds great with my Park, I am finding it a bit tricky to get a valve that does not sound fizzy with it, at the moment I have a mullard CV4004, sounds great, but when the gain goes up, it gets a little fizzy, I have also tried a 12AT7, a 5751 etc, but all seem to have a bit of high end fizz, could you recommend a valve that has the 'tone' but low fizz.

Possibly the circuit needs a little tweaking. Can you get hold of, or draw up a schematic, with voltage readings?

Can't find a schematic, the pedals are handmade to order. I have ordered the newer version of the pedal, a twin channel joby, the pedal is that good. The maker has just sent me an email saying that the pedal I have is an older model, and that all the issues with that one have been sorted, namely the voltage for the valve, that has been upped, he says this will help a great deal.

A 12AU7 may do the trick. I have used them in tube pedals before with good results and still had plenty of gain.

I will have to have a look out for one to try, thanks for the tip.
I have a Mullard CV4004 in at the moment, at the last couple of gigs it has proven it self very well, nice big sound.
