Here's some photo's of my recently compleated build. I know it's a "W" kit but I'm still a proud father, and I did order it before any of the bad stuff went down. I replaced the switches, jacks, and some of the pots. I also added a pull on volume pot (Hoffman) to the TMB chanel that engages a 47uf bypass cap across the cathode resistor for the CF tube. There have been a few component values changed but this is still a work in progress (and probobly always will be). Enjoy!

I just finished one of these as well. Do you have a voltage chart on your amp. I'm getting some strange readings with mine

Didn't you swap out your PT for Heyboer?

I've got a thread going over at ax84.com discussing the crackling problems we've had. I don't think they like us talking about these things here. It's titled "arcing power transformer".

Does the cap bypass the cathode resisotr? and what is the CF tube?? Phase inverter?? What does it do, boost?

The CF tube is the cathode follower, and the 47 uf cap is run in parallel with the cathode resistor connected to pin 3, when engaged. Yes it gives a little boost when engaged.

Yes you do. The cathide follower on your amp is V2b. Tere doesn't seem to be a schematic fir the 36 watt in the downloads section but if you look at the 18 watt TMB schematic it's pretty easy to see the cathode follower and why it's called that.
