EZ81 EL84 spacing
How close can I space an EL84 from the EZ81. A change of plan forces me to squeeze another pre amp tube in so I thought I would drill a new hole for one of the EL84s and move the rest across.
Thanks for reading,
Dave

Look at the picture, this is how close it is in the amp I am converting in a LiteIIb.

Heat. Many datasheets list the minimum distance between tubes. Interestingly, one of our members (1950?) did some experiments, blasting a running amp with a propane burner to see how the tone was affected - after about 10 minutes, the EL84's started redplating!Blue-Casket wrote:What could happen if you place the tubes too close to each other ?
