Anyone know of a DIY tube overdrive circuit--something like a Chandler Tube Driver or one of the other units that were popular in the 80's? I just can't sit still and need to start building effects...

I believe Allen Amplification in Kentucky sells a tube-based platform for building several different effects, if you want to go the kit route.

Apparently this should be in the off topic area:

but strangely enough you haven't had the same warning we have.

How simple/complex do you want it? At the simpler end, try the Real McTube II -

Or if you want a more complex dual-channel unit, try the Matchless Hotbox -

Apologies for my incorrect earlier thread.
Has anyone tried the HOTBOX?
